My blog is starved of a post and since I am at a stand still on an assignment, I guess I'll update you on my life. Nothing worth while here, just random info and whatever I want to say.
Mommy, wow. I'm a big kid now.
I graduated this past August and received a diploma in the mail that proves I've studied for the past four years and got my Bachelor's Degree in Science. After years of memorizing facts about the human body, learning about the effects of ice and electrical stimulation, and practicing palpations of body parts, I'm gettin' my Masters on how to learn them international people how to they can talk English right.
Grad school is different. Even though I'm only taking 9 credit hours it still seems like the usual 16 I've taken every semester. Basically, in the Big-BIG britches school, you read all the live long day and then go to class and show the teacher what you taught yourself. Also, you learn how to take one page of what you think is enough of your typing and spread it over 4 pages of what the teacher wants. A skill I am going to master... soon.
Plus, also a few people jokingly call me "Master Liz."
Perpetual introductions.
If it's mid-August and you happen to be in an awesome campus ministry, that means you are constantly meeting new people and doing lots of activities with them like eating hotdogs, playing Marco-Polo in the pool, or mini-golf. That's what I've experienced every August of the past four years. It's good, tiring fun and also really exciting to see 238 people at the first worship meeting of the year and having 23 people making a decision to follow Jesus (REALLY EXCITING!!!). And people keep coming and people keep getting saved.
It's so worth it to serve God like this even though you get accused of being a "tree-killer" while handing out Wednesday night invitations and receive a suggestion like "Why don't you invite someone who'll actually come?" Ha. If only they knew what kind of thing I'm involved in.
Daydreams.
Recently, I've discovered what kind of learning style I have: Intuitive.
"Intuitive learners tend to focus more on the world of possibility. Unlike sensing learners who are interested in the here and now, intuitive learners enjoy considering ideas, possibilities and potential outcomes. These learners like abstract thought, daydreaming and imagining the future."
That explains why I like to lay on my futon and just... think... I could do it for a good long while. I have a lot of dreams for life. Big, outside-of-the-box dreams. The "box" meaning American, "marry the guy that sweeps me off my feet", have 2.5 kids and a dog, white picket fence, happy-Christian-church-bubble, do-what-every-body-else-does American Christian. I don't mean to put that down... it's a good life... but I want WAY more than that. I've dreamed BIG. I crave adventure.
P.S. Today's my birthday and I ate sugar cookie dough for breakfast. Like I said... today's my birthday.
Hahah! Sugar cookie dough...I can't believe I missed your birthday. I'm so sorry. I love you and I wish you a happy late birthday!! :)
